We have spoken to the access we have which gives us power over the flesh. The second element of being ready is what holds us steady in the storms of life. That which enables us to withstand persecution and suffering.
Hebrews 6 v 18/19/20a Amp
‘So that by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us. This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells], where Jesus has entered [in advance] as a forerunner…’ (Hebrews 6 v 18-19/20a amp).
God does not lie. Everything He speaks is truth. Every part of His Word is true. He Himself is truth. There is no lie in Him. To have a clear revelation of this means that we believe everything He says. Everything. We believe His words written and promises spoken as we walk.
If we believe that some of what He says is not true or not true for us we fall prey to whatever lie Satan wants to spin as truth.
It started in the garden …
‘ … Satan said to the woman, CAN IT REALLY BE that God has SAID? … but the serpent said to the woman ‘You certainly will not die!’ (Genesis 3 v 1/4)
Satan blatantly calls God a liar. Fast forward. The New Testament.
Jesus is in the desert and the devil, the tempter comes …
‘And the tempter came and said to Him, IF you are the Son of God command these stones become bread … IF you are the Son of God, throw yourself down …’ (Matthew 4 v 3/5)
Hadn’t God the Father JUST five verses before in Matthew chapter three SAID ‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased and delighted’?
God had said it, and the devil tested it: ‘Come on Jesus, don’t just go on what He said. Prove it. Prove it to me and prove it to yourself’. Satan is wanting man to move from his mandate to test the validity of the Fathers word. Eve moved from her mandate and ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and now Satan wanted to move Jesus from His mandate of doing only the Fathers will while on earth.
Satan is still calling God a liar to this day.
Believing the Father can lie moves us from our mandate and shifts us from experiencing your position in Him. However, when you believe EVERYTHING, He says is true then He becomes a true refuge for you. We become bound up in encouragement and inner strength. You run SMACK bang into HOPE. This hope knows EVERYTHING He has promised will come to pass and we cling to it. Our arms wrap around a hope based on His infallible, unchanging, powerful, effective, active and living Word. Circumstances, other people, the devil will throw counter arguments to His truth, His Word. They will scream ‘LIAR’
BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE
He is truth. If His word says, ‘I will provide for you’ it means He will. If He says, ‘I haven’t given you a spirit of fear’ then He means it. When He says, ‘I will reward you’, He will. Know what He says. Believe for it. Wait for it. GOD DOES NOT LIE. This hope becomes an anchor (it cannot slip, it cannot breakdown under WHATEVER pressure bears upon it) and WHERE does it anchor you?
BEHIND THE VEIL!
It anchors you in the Most Holy Place – RIGHT IN THE CENTRE OF HIS PRESENCE. ANCHORED, held firmly IN communion with Him. IN fellowship with Him. IN experience of Him, His love and tangible touch. Anchored in the position bought by the blood of Jesus. CLOSE to God, in heavenly places – with Him. Anchored IN perpetual forgiveness, IN ongoing freedom, IN continual release from shame and sin.
ANCHORED IN HIM.
Revelation of this makes us a ready people.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, come in power and reveal the power of Your Word. Reveal in the deepest parts of our hearts, minds and spirits that everything You say is true. That You are indeed trustworthy. That we can hold onto this hope and experience the riches of Your presence and fellowship. Held firm through every trial. In every storm. Reveal the lies we believe and free us from their power we pray in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
